WHO WE ARE

People and principles, since the mid-1980s

Kel-Berg began in the mid-1980s when Group Managing Director Jens Larsen started supplying tractor units to Scandinavian and German markets. The company later moved to its purpose-built facility in Weston-on-the-Green, where it now designs and manufactures its own truck and trailer equipment for UK operators — backed by continual investment, comprehensive stock and a level of service maintained for more than three decades.

Out Timelines

How Kel-Berg has Grown

  1. Mid-1980s

    Kel-Berg is founded

    Group Managing Director Jens Larsen founds Kel-Berg, supplying tractor units to Scandinavian and German markets.

  2. The UK move

    A purpose-built home in Oxfordshire

    Kel-Berg relocates to its purpose-built facility in Weston-on-the-Green and begins designing and manufacturing its own truck and trailer equipment for UK operators. Ronnie Verner and Simon Hall join as production and sales directors — both still Directors today.

  3. Early 2000s

    Into construction equipment

    Operations expand into the construction industry — tipping trailers, concrete mixers and grab loaders.

  4. Testing on site

    DVSA & IVA test lanes

    A DVSA authorised testing lane and an IVA lane are integrated on site, bringing MOT and type-approval testing in-house.

  5. 2016

    Major plant investment

    A major expansion of the Danish facility with a robotic welder, laser cutter and brake press — building capacity to more than 50 bays across the site.

  6. Recent

    Paint & metallisation

    Investment in state-of-the-art paint facilities and metallisation equipment for long-term corrosion protection on every build.
