Choosing a Road Sweeper
What are these sweepers for?
Our road sweeper is built for compliance and general cleaning, rather deep, heavy-duty cleaning. It exists to keep a site legally and practically clean in three situations: sweeping the public highway outside a site entrance clear of mud and debris tracked out by plant and lorries, keeping internal site roads clean when the site is active, and clearing drains and gullies using the overhead suction boom.
It’s general-purpose sweeping, not scrubbing. Given multiple passes, it can remove dirt back toward bare tarmac, but it’s not a “back-to-black” deep-clean machine, and it isn’t suited to clearing road planings. Jobs like that need a bigger machine: a larger donkey engine, greater tank capacity, and dedicated scrubbing and additional features these units don’t carry. But always give us a call. Our sales teams are always ready to discuss your requirements and work to build a solution around them.
One proven combination, ready to go
We supply a single configuration: the Bucher V65 sweeper body mounted to a left-hand-drive DAF XB 260 4×2 automatic day cab chassis. The body is assembled onto the chassis by Bucher Municipal themselves.
>When this sweeper shows as in stock, it means a unit is already built and sat in the yard ready to go — not a build slot waiting to be filled.

Common Questions
It keeps a construction or industrial site legally and practically clean - sweeping mud and debris off the public highway at the site entrance, cleaning internal site roads, and clearing drains and gullies with an overhead suction boom.
With multiple passes it can, but it isn't designed as a deep-clean or "back-to-black" machine. That level of scrubbing needs different equipment.
No. Road planings really need a larger machine with a bigger donkey, great capacity and dedicated scrubbing and suction features that this sweeper doesn't have. Talk to us if that's your requirement.
Clearing out drains and gullies. It's mounted overhead for that job specifically.
