Debmat Surfacing Ltd’s new complete tarmac solution – one truck for the whole job.

Based in Tyne & Wear, Debmat Surfacing Ltd are busy pouring asphalt with maximum efficiency using their new drawbar grab loader.

Debmat Surfacing Ltd are specialists in all things surfacing. Having operated for 44 years, the company remains family owned whose core business is tarmacing, resin aggregate and paving. Their customers include high profile building firms such as Persimmon Homes and Bellway Building, and stores such as Sainsbury's.

Throughout their 44 years of business, Debmat has grown their fleet to seven pieces of equipment that includes grab loaders, tippers and a low loader which are operated from their Ryton depot. There are no favourites in the Debmat yard with their fleet being a mix of DAF, Volvo and Scania equipment. Debmat;s latest acquisition is a DAF CF480 FAD 8x4 chassis fitted with a Kel-Berg grab loader installation and JOST rockinger drawbar coupling. This configuration gives Debmat the option to operate at 44 ton and pull an additional trailer.

Shaun Johnson, owner of Debmat Surfacing Ltd, said "we chose the drawbar because it gave us the option to carry our Bobcat planner on the back, and tarmac in the body". Johnson continues "when attending smaller jobs such as car parks, it means we only need one piece of kit for the job giving and complete solution ... of course larger jobs require additional equipment so we then use our low loader". "We are currently doing some surfacing work for Sainsbury's and the set-up has worked just intended".
