PBC Plant Ltd continues its fleet expansion with a new 8x4 grab lorry

PBC Plant Ltd is a grab truck and plant hire company based out of Newbury that is part of the PBC group. It operates a fl eet of 4 vehicles that is a mix of grab lorries and RORO equipment used to transport 20 and 40 cubic yard bins.

It is one of two companies owned by Darren Pennington with the other being Pennington Building Contractors (PBC) Ltd which is a groundworks, building and demolition company operating plant such as excavators, dumpers and rollers.

PBC started in 2006, with PBC plant entering the scene in 2014. Both still family-owned and both operated out of their Newbury site.

With the volume of work that is available throughout the country, PBC Plant were in need of a new piece of equipment to continue their fl eet expansion and renewal. Throughout the history of the company PBC Plant have been strong Volvo advocates, operating exclusively Volvo trucks and plant equipment excluding their MAN hook loader.

If you still haven’t seen it, Volvo have released their latest cab design for the FMX multi-wheeler. It offers improved visibility, better entertainment and instrument displays, and an overall modernisation of the cab internal and external.

What do you think of the new Volvo cab?

“It’s nice, I haven’t been driving but my drivers say it’s great. Some say it drives better than a car” said Darren. “The steering is excellent, the vision is great, everything is bang on”. “The equipment will be used within the various sectors we operate in to service the jobs we have on, and it has been fl at since we got it”
